Transport planning in Latin America and the Caribbean has traditionally focused on improving conditions for motorized mobility – private and public – without giving a similar level of consideration to the development of space for pedestrians and cyclists. However, incorporating strategies to increase bicycle use and facilitate walking is a practical and accessible way to reduce CO2 emissions while improving quality of life for city dwellers.
This webinar will discuss the concept of non-motorized mobility as well as the challenges and opportunities to promote it in Latin America and the Caribbean. It will present Mexico City’s experience in implementing public bike-sharing programs.
The webinar will be held in Spanish. For more information about the webinar, click here. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: info@ledslac.org
