Climate smart agriculture is an approach that develops the technical, policy and investment conditions needed for sustainable agricultural development which improves food security in the context of climate change. In applying this approach, it is important to develop support frameworks to identify best practice portfolios and prioritize investments.
This webinar will present the ‘Framework for prioritizing investment in climate smart agriculture’, a methodological tool developed by the Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS)’s CIAT project and adapted by CATIE. It looks at the tool’s application in two Central American territories where the Mesoamerican Agroenvironmental Program (MAP) operates. The tool allows for the identification and evaluation of technically and economically promising practices in climate smart agriculture, and building portfolios with best practices selected by key players through participatory processes.
