- Hear how the Guide is starting to be used to support developing countries with planning for NDC implementation.
This interactive event will showcase a practical tool developed by CDKN and Ricardo Energy & Environment, to support developing countries with planning for NDC implementation. The tool ‘Planning for NDC implementation: A Quick-Start Guide’ can be accessed here: www.cdkn.org/ndc-guide.
Claire Monkhouse of CDKN will introduce the session and the tool.
James Harries of Ricardo Energy and Environment will give participants a half hour, step-by-step orientation to how to use the Quick Start Guide, covering:
- Starting points for planning mitigation and adaptation measures;
- Key steps in developing a climate investment plan and to secure access to climate finance;
- Governance considerations related to NDC planning and implementation;
- Monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) for tracking progress in implementation and achieving an NDC.
Stephen King’uyu, of the Climate Change Directorate of Kenya’s Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and the Co-Chair of LEDS GP, will provide remarks.
The presenters will lead an interactive virtual discussion on the practical next steps that countries could take to implement NDCs.
It would help us if you could send your questions about NDC implementation to James and Claire before the webinar, if possible. Please email comms@cdkn.org to pose your questions about NDC ‘best practice’ and ‘common challenges’.
