The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) is hosting a Regional Forum for National Designated Entities for Small Island Developing States in the Pacific. The Forum will be held on 24-26 February 2016 in Tonga, at the Tungi Colonnade Hotel, Nuku‘alofa. The meeting is organized in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), and it is hosted by the Government of Tonga.
The Forum will be an occasion to develop and strengthen the regional network of National Designated Entities (NDEs) and their relationship with other technology stakeholders, with a view to identify matchmaking opportunities to secure funding for follow-up actions to CTCN requests or other climate technology activities.
Participants will discuss the Paris Outcome in relation to the Technology Transfer and Technology Mechanism, linkages between CTCN technical assistance and financial mechanisms and institutions that are relevant to climate technologies, and they will share experiences on the use of CTCN Technical Assistance and ideas for national and regional requests.
