Trip Reduction Impacts of Mobility Management Strategies (TRIMMS)
Trip Reduction Impacts of Mobility Management Strategies (TRIMMS) is a visual basic application spreadsheet model that estimates the impacts of a broad range of transportation demand initiatives and provides program cost effectiveness assessment, such as net program benefit and benefit-to-cost ratio analysis.
TRIMMS evaluates strategies directly affecting the cost of travel, like public transportation subsidies, parking pricing, pay-as-you-go pricing, and other financial incentives. TRIMMS also evaluates the impact of strategies affecting access and travel times and a host of employer-based program support strategies, such as: alternative work schedules, telework and flexible work hours, and worksite amenities.
Key questions addressed:
- What is the impact of transportation demand initiatives?
Sample data inputs:
- Program costs
- Duration
- Total employees or commuters affected
Sample quantitative outputs:
- Changes in mode share, trips, and vehicle miles of travel
- Changes in all relevant cost externalities (i.e., air pollution, congestion, fuel consumption, climate change, health and safety, noise pollution)
